Mission Partners

Christ Church believes in giving one tenth of its income to support various Mission Partners and Organisations. As the name suggests, most of the Mission Partners are engaged in Christian mission activities of various sorts.

Philip and Fiona (Crosslinks)
Philip and Fiona Richardson are currently in Tanzania, in a town called Iringa, where Philip teaches at the local Bible college and Fiona acts a resource facilitator and advisor to the Archbishop on youth and children's issues. They are in Tanzania under the auspices of Anglican mission organisation Crosslinks. Before going overseas, they were members of the congregation at Christ Church and Fiona was our Youth and Children's Worker. Prayer Letters containing news from Philip and Fiona are available - click here ...

Gareth Mort (Wycliffe)
Gareth Mort works for the London Team of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Gareth has led a team of young graduates who began language work in two unwritten Nigerian languages.

Kelvin Crombie (CMJ)
For many years, Christ Church has had links with CMJ (Church's Ministry amongst the Jewish People). We currently support a interpretative centre run by the organisation in historic old Jerusalem, near CMJ's Middle East base at Christ Church Jerusalem. The centre aims introduce Jews and Arabs alike to the pioneering work undertaken by many early Christian Missionaries in forming modern-day Israel. The centre is run by Kelvin Crombie.

Richard Thomas (Church Army)
Christ Church has had connections with the Church Army for many years. The Church Army is an Anglican organisation that focuses on evangelism and bringing the good news about Jesus Christ to those who have not yet heard it. One particular project we regularly support is the Marylebone Women's Refuge.

Paul Morris (CAI)
Paul Morris, a former congregation member at Christ Church, now works for a visionary church organisation called Christian Associates International. The organisation specialises in setting up and running churches that offer attractive worship and teaching and care for the poor. In order to achieve this the organisation places importance on training up new and existing leaders who can continue to grow the ministry.

Homeless Action in Barnet
Homeless Action in Barnet is a local charity addressing a very real need in the Borough. Not only do they serve the needs of rough sleepers but they also specialise in helping asylum seekers and people who have all kinds of housing problems. Over winter 2005-06 Christ Church also supported a joint initiative between HAB and the local churches' Winter Shelter project in providing overnight accommodation for homeless people in the church hall once a month. In 2006-07 the church is again planning to participate in this initiative on a fortnightly basis.

Outreach activities run by the church
The church runs a number of community outreach activities including the Thursday Luncheon club, the English Tuition classes and the 123 club for mothers and toddlers (more details).

Christ Church supports other organisations and individuals from time to time, usually ones with a link or connection with the church. The church only supports individuals who are attached to or working for a recognised organisation or charity.
