Welcome to the web page of Christ
Church North Finchley. We have three services
every Sunday and we consider it important to be true to the Bible and
strive to worship God in a way that is relevant. The 09:45am
service is a traditional morning worship and during the 11:15am
service the children have their own classes. The 6:30pm service leaves room
for the Holy Spirit to lead. For details of how to
get to the church and contact
details click on the relevant link.
For many, a church is the building,
and our building at Christ Church is certainly a very lovely piece of
Victorian architecture. But more important than the building is the
community of believers that meet in this building week in week out, and
what we stand for.
We consider it important to be true to God's word as
revealed in the Bible, in the best tradition of evangelical
Christianity, and strive to worship God, through Jesus Christ, in a way
that is user-friendly and relevant to the 21st Century.
The parish of North Finchley, in suburban north
London, covers a diverse and varied area and this is reflected in the
church congregation and our vision
which is to be a House of Prayer
for All Nations.
Perhaps you are looking for a church, you are
interested in enquiring
about Christianity or have questions about life, the meaning of
life, God or questions about what it means to be a Christian. Perhaps
you have children and you want them to know Jesus Christ and to learn
about him. Perhaps you want to grow in your Christian faith or spiritual
life and need the love and support of fellow believers to help you to do
this. Maybe you need look no further than Christ Church.
Christ Church is also able to carry out
baptism, wedding and
funeral
services. A variety of mid-week
activities take place in the church or church
hall and many members of the church meet together in
mid-week small groups
in people's homes, to encourage each other in our personal faith.
If Christian insight and teaching is what you are looking for then you may
find our Cyber vicar sermons
a source of inspiration. For a more reflective view of life you might
appreciate the collection of Thoughts of the Day.
These are a series of messages from God to his
church, as received by one of our church members during times of reflection and
prayer. Finally, you can find out about the building
and about the North Finchley
area.
Christ Church has a church school, Christ
Church School (The Finchley Campus of St Mary's CE School), with which it
is associated and which is located about half a mile away, which
will close during 2006.
Christ Church is an Anglican church and is part of
the Church of
England. Christ Church is one of the churches that make up the Diocese
of London.
