Christ Church
believes that baptism is an important and Biblical activity. As well
as offering traditional infant baptisms we also believe in encouraging
adults to be baptised by full immersion, although a more traditional
sprinkling of water can be arranged if required. After baptism, many
adults go on to 'join' the Church of England through confirmation.
As an alternative to
infant baptism, many people have a service of blessing for their
children, so that when the children grow up they can make the
decision to follow Jesus and to be baptised for themselves.
