Confirmation is the opportunity for anyone to confirm publicly the faith and
hope in Jesus that they already believe
privately. For some this will be an opportunity to acknowledge the
promises that were made by parents as an infant, but increasingly people
who were never baptised as an infant are baptised as adults and then go on
to 'join' the Church of England through confirmation. At
Christ Church there is the option to be baptised by full immersion or by
means of the traditional sprinkling of water. A confirmation service also
provides an opportunity to hear Bishop Peter Wheatley preach at Christ
Church.

In preparation for confirmation, a
short four-week preparation course is arranged, usually taking place on a
weekday evening. Please speak to Tim Atkins if you are interested in
finding out when the next opportunity for confirmation will be, or contact the church
office.
Further information about
confirmation is available from the Church of England web site which can be
found at www.cofe.anglican.org.
