Why cause more suffering?

A thought of the day received on Thursday 20th September 2001.

Do not despair, for the mood of the world has changed, and apprehension covers the nation like a blanket of doom.  The hate of the nations is stewing in a cauldron of vengeance.

I watch from afar and see that there are so many sins casting a shadow over the righteous of each nation.  But repentance is far from their hearts and their lust has no limits and their prayers for guidance ring out like a cracked bell.  For they do not listen to what I have to say, for they are full of their own importance and to be humbled is a sign of weakness in their eyes.

Why cause more suffering? For the world has enough suffering already.  The nations have many tongues but you do not listen to what they are saying, for they see the world in a different light to yours.

It is written in My word "Love thine enemy", but your reasoning cannot see the strength in My words, for if you could you would be heading in a different direction.

You talk of days of prayer, but you never talk of days of repentance where your hearts are laid bare before Me.

Search the memories of your mind and illuminate all of your iniquities and bring them before Me, for through your repentance and sorrow and for what the world sees as weakness, this is your strength which no nation can take from you.
